Role Summary We are looking for a skilled Automation & Commissioning Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Siemens and Phoenix Contact PLC-based automation systems. Candidates with exposure to multi-vendor PLC platforms such as Schneider, Rockwell (Allen-Bradley), or others will be preferred. Key Responsibilities • Design, program, and commission Siemens PLC systems (S7-1200, S7-1500, S7-300/400) • Develop control logic using TIA Portal / STEP 7 • Configure and program Phoenix Contact PLCs (PLCnext / RFC Series) • Integrate PLCs with HMI, SCADA, drives, and field instrumentation • Implement and troubleshoot industrial communication protocols: o PROFINET o PROFIBUS o Modbus TCP/IP o Ethernet-based networks • Perform FAT, SAT, site commissioning, and startup activities • Troubleshoot automation issues to minimize system downtime • Interface PLC/SCADA systems with VFDs, MCCs, and field instruments • Support DCS engineering activities (I/O mapping, alarms, graphics) • Prepare and maintain technical documentation: o Functional Design Specifications (FDS) o I/O Lists o PLC backups o Logic descriptions o Manuals • Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and project teams • Ensure compliance with engineering and safety standards Required Skills & Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Automation Engineering • 4–5 years of relevant experience in industrial automation • Strong hands-on experience with Siemens PLCs • Experience with Phoenix Contact PLCs and I/O systems • Proficiency in TIA Portal / STEP 7 • Hands-on knowledge of: o PLC programming (Ladder, FBD, basic Structured Text) o Alarms, trends, and tag configuration • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols: o Modbus TCP/IP o PROFIBUS o PROFINET • Exposure to process or manufacturing industries • Willingness to travel for site commissioning assignments Preferred Skills • Experience with Schneider Electric PLCs (EcoStruxure / Unity Pro) • Exposure to Rockwell Automation / Allen-Bradley PLCs (ControlLogix, CompactLogix) • Knowledge of additional PLC platforms (Mitsubishi, Omron, Beckhoff, etc.) • Familiarity with multi-vendor automation environments • Exposure to SCADA systems and industrial data integration • Knowledge of Safety PLCs and functional safety standards Soft Skills & Language Requirements • English: Mandatory (spoken & written) • Hindi: Mandatory (spoken)
