Java Developer

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mendix Developer with over 5 years of experience in Java development. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in Java to extend, integrate, and enhance solutions built on the Mendix low-code platform. This role involves creating scalable, business-oriented applications using both Mendix and Java technologies to meet dynamic business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Mendix Development (Low-Code Platform):
• Design, develop, and maintain business applications on the Mendix platform.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into functional solutions.
• Extend Mendix functionalities using Java actions and integrations.
• Customize and optimize UI components within Mendix.

Java Development & Integration:

• Participate in agile ceremonies (standups, sprint planning, retrospectives) and contribute to sprint deliverables.
• Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, and cross-functional teams to deliver quality solutions.
• Provide mentorship to junior developers and contribute to team knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Testing & Troubleshooting:

• Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and performance testing to ensure high-quality solutions.
• Identify and resolve issues in both Mendix and Java components efficiently.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in Java development (Java 8+).
• 2+ years of experience working on the Mendix platform.
• Strong understanding of Java actions and how they integrate with Mendix.
• Experience with RESTful and SOAP APIs for system integration.
• Hands-on experience with relational databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
• Proficiency in CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git).
• Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of front-end technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS) for UI customization.
• Experience with microservices architecture and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
• Mendix certification is a plus.
• Familiarity with Docker or Kubernetes is an advantage.

Education:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
