Overview
- This role involves working extensively with SAP Global Trade Services (GTS) with a techno-functional focus, bridging the gap between technical development and functional business requirements.
- The professional will be responsible for designing, developing, and enhancing SAP GTS solutions using advanced ABAP programming techniques and modern SAP development paradigms.
- Key responsibilities include creating and optimizing Core Data Services (CDS) views to enable efficient data modeling and reporting within the SAP environment.
- Developing and maintaining ODATA services to facilitate seamless integration and communication between SAP GTS and other systems or user interfaces.
- Utilizing the RESTful ABAP Programming Model (RAP) to build scalable, maintainable, and cloud-ready SAP applications that align with current SAP S/4HANA standards.
- Collaborating closely with functional consultants and business stakeholders to gather requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
- Performing unit testing, debugging, and performance tuning of ABAP programs and services to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Supporting the deployment and post-implementation support of SAP GTS enhancements and custom developments.
- Keeping abreast of the latest SAP technologies and best practices to continuously improve the SAP GTS landscape and development methodologies.
- Documenting technical designs, development processes, and user manuals to facilitate knowledge sharing and maintenance.
- Design and develop SAP GTS enhancements using ABAP programming language.
- Create and optimize CDS views for efficient data retrieval and reporting.
- Develop ODATA services to enable integration with SAP Fiori apps and external systems.
- Implement RAP-based applications following SAP's modern development standards.
- Collaborate with functional teams to understand business processes and translate them into technical solutions.
- Conduct code reviews, unit testing, and performance optimization.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for SAP GTS related issues.
- Maintain documentation for all developments and configurations.
- Stay updated with SAP technology advancements and incorporate them into projects.
- Ensure compliance with SAP development guidelines and security standards.
