Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
Implement a modern Azure platform to enable faster time-to-market for business applications.
Serve as a trusted cloud partner for application owners and internal technology teams.
Prioritize engineering resources based on roadmap and approved funding.
Introduce emerging technologies and best practices to build consistent, secure, and efficient cloud systems.
Ensure all cloud platforms adhere to Standard Chartered’s security, audit, and compliance standards and align with external cloud provider requirements.
Contribute to full-stack development, deployment testing, and continuous improvement.
Support adoption of containers and define container control frameworks for internal and external cloud services, including platform design, cost planning, and self-service deployment capabilities.
Ensure proper lifecycle documentation including test cases and source code repositories.
Act as a communication bridge between customers, engineering teams, and peer managers.
Fulfill additional duties related to platform architecture, deployment, and delivery as required.

Demonstrate leadership, set strong cultural values, and collaborate effectively with risk and control partners.
Ensure ongoing training and development for team members and maintain proper supervision for critical functions.
Recruit, engage, and retain high-quality engineering talent.
Resolve conflicts effectively and manage stakeholder expectations.
Governance & Compliance
Understand and comply with all risk, compliance, and regulatory requirements, including AML, sanctions, and the Group Code of Conduct.
Identify, escalate, and resolve risk and compliance concerns.
Promote ethical behaviour and adherence to policies across the team.
Key Stakeholders
Engineering teams, product owners, CIOs, and regulators.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.
Professional cloud certification (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with major cloud providers (preferably AWS & Azure).
2+ years of software engineering experience using Go, Python, Shell, Perl, PHP, Ruby, or C.
Strong experience with Terraform, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and testing frameworks; ability to write unit and system tests.
Commitment to DevSecOps practices and solid knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTPS, DNS, and related protocols.
Strong accountability, delivery focus, and ability to work across teams.
