Automation Engineer

Role Purpose:

The role focuses on designing, programming, simulating, and testing automation products or processes to achieve efficiency and effectiveness. The candidate will analyze software requirements, system architecture, and interdependencies to contribute to the automation roadmap and process improvements. Responsibilities include formulating project plans with management, understanding operating procedures, and developing new automation solutions while maintaining frameworks and reusable libraries across technology stacks.

The candidate will design and execute software development and reporting tasks, including creating test plans, test cases, and scenarios for functional and non-functional requirements. They will develop technical specifications, resolve complex design issues, implement automated testing tools, track problems and resolutions, and ensure full coverage of functional and non-functional requirements. Emphasis is placed on coding efficiency, adherence to Wipro standards, and implementing best practices in automation and validation.

Collaboration with Agile delivery teams is essential to develop scalable, robust, high-quality automated tests for functional, regression, and performance testing. The candidate will assist in creating acceptance criteria, maintain a test automation backlog, and improve continuous deployment practices. Close communication with business SMEs, developers, and stakeholders ensures accurate documentation, problem resolution, and long-term maintainability of automation systems. Backend/database programming for key projects is also required.

Performance is measured by automation quality, adherence to design and project plans, issue resolution, client escalation management, and zero disruption in deployments. Complete documentation of automation processes, test cases, debug data, and performance reviews is required.

Experience Required: 5–8 years in automation development, software validation, and testing within a technology-driven environment. Strong collaboration, problem-solving, Agile methodology experience, and adherence to industry standards are essential.
